But sometimes taking a step back and assessing your prospects can help point you in the right direction. Join us to learn the basics of prospect research and prospect management and how they might assist your organization in uncovering more funding.

PRESENTER: Timothy Weaver has worked in a variety of prospect research and prospect management roles at MIT, Boston University, World Vision, and the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. He also co-founded and was the Executive Director of a successful non-profit, which helps provide education to approximately 1,500 children in rural communities in Guatemala. Timothy loves to partner with organizations to provide capacity ratings, research briefs, or help segment prospects into robust gift officer portfolios and focus on prospects who warrant cultivation. New England Development Research Association’s 34th annual Conference. Premier gathering of prospect research professionals in New England.

CANCELLED due to Covid-19Message from NEDRA: NEDRA is committed to the health and well-being of our members, staff, and community.  Several of you have inquired as to the status of our annual conference.  As you know, the situation has been changing rapidly, including the CDC’s guidance on 3/15/2020 to cancel or postpone in-person events of 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks.  NEDRAcon2020 will therefore no longer be taking place on May 6-8 in Portland, ME.  NEDRA will be working to process refunds for those who have already registered, and will also be working with the hotel on the cancellation of rooms booked for the conference.

The NEDRA Board is currently investigating all available options regarding a contingency plan for NEDRAcon2020 and want to be as transparent as possible as we navigate such uncharted territory.  We will continue to communicate updates via email as information becomes available.

Program focuses on four key areas of prospect development: Campaigns, Prospect Research, Prospect Management, and Data Analytics. Also explores fundraising terms and technologies, techniques and resources for finding and analyzing biographical, background, and financial information; introduces participants to corporate and foundation research, and explores how available data can be used to formulate gift capacities and inform fundraising operations. In addition, the program covers guiding concepts related to prospect research, such as navigating ethical considerations in conducting research, best practices for managing and reporting prospect data, and creating quality research products.
